Surroundings The breathtaking mountains of South Tyrol

Pfalzen in the Puster Valley is located on a sunny plateau to the west of the Taufer Valley. A perfect location for wonderful panoramic views of the Dolomite mountains and the villages in the valley. It owes its mild climate to the peaks of the Alps, which loom over Pfalzen and protect it from the cold air. This is why the road to Pfalzen is also known as the "Strada del Sole" (sun road).

The origins of Pfalzen can be traced back to the Roman era, when the town only consisted of a fortress. At this time the Puster Valley was an important transit route. Today, the area is a well preserved and important holiday resort, welcoming its visitors with typical Tyrolean hospitality.

In the winter months, you can take advantage of the impressive range of activities offered by the Kronplatz ski resort, the ideal location for all kinds of winter sports.
