Past and present An inn with tradition
The "Jochele" has been a guesthouse for over 200 years – but records show it is even older than that.
In 1792, a Pfalzen farmer, Anton Hilber, purchased the “Jochele estate” and ran it as an innkeeping business. Back then, ox-drawn carts rolled through the village and the inhabitants of Bruneck rarely visited in their coaches. The Hilber family had to sell their guesthouse in 1909, but were subsequently able to buy it back.
In 1951 it was extended and renovated by the Hilber-Hainz landlords. The family of Paul Hainz has been managing the "Gasthof Jochele" since 1986.
